Kevin Agius was born on the 17^th September, 1966. He studied at Stella Maris College, the then New Lyceum in Msida, and graduated from the University of Malta with B.A (Hons) in Accountancy in 1991. In 1995, he obtained the warrant to practice as an accountant and in 2007 Practice Certificate in Auditing.

For several years, he was employed as a Financial Controller with various private entities, however he did work for some years with the Inland Revenue Department.

In 2017, he joined the Foundation for Social Welfare (FSWS), a public entity, as Director Finance, where he was responsible for the finance department of the said entity which has a budget allocation of around €35 million euros and close to 1,000 employees.

On the 2^nd of January 2024, he was appointed as the Director General of the Internal Audit and Investigations Department (IAID).

Mr. Agius is married and has two daughters.
